Studio Rooted conceptualised and delivered the design for the set as well as costume and props. The theme of ‘home’ remained at the core of the play’s narrative and therefore took centre stage. Critical to the unforgettable history of the island is the devastation of war including the ghoslty homes that remain uninhabited, holding secrets and memories. The ‘house’ with it’s material qualities are semi-transparent with a worn and tired fabric that evoke an ethereal space, is the house a figment of our imagination? This symbolic home is reflective of the Cypriot socio-political landscape as well as architectural.
