Studio Rooted is a narrative-led research, architecture and design studio with a focus on cultural heritage.

Studio Rooted stems from a deep appreciation for cultural heritage and how this is represented through architecture and design. We passionately embrace both modern and historic objects and structures, always with the aim to sympathetically restore or authentically craft to create meaningful forms, spaces or experiences.

After first meeting at architecture school in 2013, we recently established our studio in 2024 to champion our shared interests. In our first year we have worked on architectural restoration, interior and set design projects. The common thread that allows us to work across these and many other disciplines is the sensitivity to which we approach each project.  Research in its many forms allows us to understand and develop a contextually relevant concept and through collaboration we can challenge traditional architectural boundaries by transcending a single discipline.

We strive for our work to evoke meaningful connection, emotional response, or transformation in whatever form it takes.

Christiana Georghiou, Designer

Born in London, Christiana holds strong ties to her Cypriot heritage. Her early interest in how our environments affect us drew her towards a BA Interior Architecture from Oxford Brookes, she went on to further study MA Narrative Environments at Central Saint Martins. Christiana values holding space for stories in her research and design process and these are the common threads that run throughout her work.
